“What is YOUR Gift?”
This Christmas message takes us on a journey with the wise men from Matthew chapter 2, revealing three profound gifts we can offer to Jesus that go far beyond material presents. The sermon explores how these ancient travelers gave Jesus the principal gift of worship—humbling themselves before a child because they recognized His divine identity. They gave the priority gift of time—traveling up to two years just to reach Him, putting their entire lives on hold for this sacred encounter. And they gave the precious gift of treasures—gold, frankincense, and myrrh, each symbolizing Jesus as King, Priest, and the One who would die for our sins. What makes this message so compelling is its challenge to our modern sensibilities: we live in a culture where people won't cross the street to attend church, yet these men crossed continents. The question becomes deeply personal—what are we willing to give the One who gave everything for us? Our worship, our time, and our treasures reveal where our hearts truly lie. The jar illustration about priorities reminds us that if we don't put the big rocks in first, they'll never fit. Jesus must be our first priority, not something we squeeze in around everything else. This Christmas, we're invited to examine what we truly treasure and whether we're willing to dedicate it to the King of Kings who saved our souls.
